Importance of Family
Dear Wen,
What I noticed most about "Losing Home," a WNYC Radio Rookies podcast, was how you told us that when you were in China you don't really appriciate your family. But when you moved to America you were really sad and homesick. I liked your story because it talks abut the importance about family and relatives.
When your said, "We don't talk abput our feelings," I think that it is so sad to have a family like that. It is because you can't express your feelings to anyone in your family. I also believed that when somone is sad, any family member should talk to that sad person.
Another part that I loved was: "I miss my grandmother's cooking." This stood out for me because in my opinion every grandmother's cooking is more delicious than any other. When my grandmother cooks all the time, it tastes delicious. Every time my family comes over to my grandma's house, she always prepares a lot of food.
I mostly agree to what you said in your podcast about how even though you don't appreciate what your family does to you, you will realize that when they are gone you will look for them. I'm so sorry for what happen to your grandfather.
I am so glad that I heard your podcast. It is so nice and maybe it will make some people to realize that family is important. You told us that when one member of the family is gone it will so sad especially when that person took care of you since birth. I would like to hear more of your stories in the future.
