''One reason for the low birth rate is the 12-hour workday.''

''But there are several other factors compounding the problem -- among them, the high cost of living, and social rigidity toward women and parenting.''

Herman  ''Keidanren, Japan's largest business group, with 1,300 major international corporations as members, has issued a plea to its members to let workers go home early to spend time with their families and help Japan with its pressing social problem.''

Something that always catch my eyes is Japan .Most of time I was focus on Japan's strong economic  system. The world second biggest economic,  It is amazing to thinks about small population of Japan had developing to the world most powerful country .Modern Japan has strong economic and military .It has more influence than most of countries in the world ,but it also maintain lot the problems......
One of the problem is low birthrate. The thing that cause it,is 20 hours day work. Even it is very common problems in the world,Major things is the world has developing to more and more modernizes.

I that  when we fight for the lives ,We also have to regarding on the healthy way to lives.

Yups I totally agree with this post. I think that people shouldn't be working more than 10hours at most 10hours a day. Working 20 hours a day seems so amazing to me I can't even belief that it's true. I doubt that people get to spend any time at all with their family. This is really sad and I think that people should have less hours of work because it's also important to have time for one's self and do things that you want to do. ^.^

I also agree. On the news

I also agree. On the news I've heard about Japanese companies that pay their workers if they have children. They pay more depending on how many babies you have. From a couple hundred dollars to thousands of dollars. It seems strange but it's probably helping their population.
