Today I worked on finding pictures of the things I wil lneed for my board. First I found pictures of different terrorists, one being Osama Bin Laden, which I found on http://www.publispain.com/revista/imagenes-julio/osama-bin-laden.jpg. Another one is Sadam Hussein which I found on http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.apfn.org/Saddam-Hussein/hussein.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.apfn.org/Saddam-Hussein/real.htm&usg=__PjCc_3XULKRYCPx9Z5BX8NaCyyY=&h=300&w=400&sz=21&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=84Lcziw-uKu62M:&tbnh=157&tbnw=205&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsadam%2Bhussein%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1659%26bih%3D852%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=469&ei=ICOhTPuhJoT7lwf4ifHzCQ&oei=ICOhTPuhJoT7lwf4ifHzCQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=32&ved=1t:429,r:16,s:0&tx=48&ty=73 and I also looked up pictures of terrorist attacks. Some pictures that I found included pictures of 9/11 which I found on http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://ginacobb.typepad.com/gina_cobb/images/2007/04/29/september_11_burning.jpg&imgrefurl=http://ginacobb.typepad.com/gina_cobb/2007/09/if-your-memory-.html&usg=__S912c74mfIPU4MkV74Yj94xrybo=&h=740&w=615&sz=87&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=4IzUgY_3vMcGPM:&tbnh=164&tbnw=134&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dseptember%2B11%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1659%26bih%3D852%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=317&ei=wSOhTMPoOcOBlAeZ2JHGCQ&oei=wSOhTMPoOcOBlAeZ2JHGCQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=31&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0&tx=91&ty=75. Also, I found pictures of terrorist attacks in Israel and MUmbai. The picture of the attack on Israel is found on http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.terrorism-info.org.il/malam_multimedia/html/final/sp/sib3_04/images/k_33tl.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.terrorism-info.org.il/malam_multimedia/html/final/eng/sib/4_04/y_apc.htm&usg=___-7Fx4cjIMhhsVBLAp1d95d2Lcs=&h=240&w=320&sz=14&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=_U9rdtZphSvEeM:&tbnh=129&tbnw=171&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dterrorist%2Battacks%2Bisrael%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX%26biw%3D1659%26bih%3D852%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C198&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=562&ei=1CShTMWDDYSdlge8o7mPCw&oei=QSShTJ-SLsP6lwfN_vHyCQ&esq=13&page=1&ndsp=40&ved=1t:429,r:30,s:0&tx=76&ty=45&biw=1659&bih=852 and the picture of the attack on Mumbai is found on http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://i.ytimg.com/vi/FQ-WYqLy0uo/0.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.dipity.com/timetube/YouTube_Mumbai_Terror_Attacks&usg=__AWDqyM7MJ9Fuu_5eVfcEc9CB4I=&h=360&w=480&sz=20&hl=en&start=151&zoom=1&tbnid=T0mjoNToqxCSEM:&tbnh=170&tbnw=229&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dterrorist%2Battacks%2Bmumbai%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1659%26bih%3D852%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C3908&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=439&ei=FyWhTIn0KsPflgeV5uHTCg&oei=_iShTMfzMYOKlwf8n9XsAg&esq=6&page=6&ndsp=28&ved=1t:429,r:15,s:151&tx=108&ty=65&biw=1659&bih=852

Jessica, you must fix your post. It looks like you wanted to embed some pictures, but perhaps when you copied them from GoogleDocs it didn't copy properly. Please see me for help in fixing this problem.

I thought that your project was well thought out. you had a good idea on her topic and strategy. something cool that i have to say about her project is not yet complete to the extent that it should be. you should also make really creative pieces.

The games seemed simple and easy to understand, although it wasn’t thourougly explained in the presentation. Although the game seems fun to play.

The purpose of the board

The purpose of the board game/ talking about the actual teaching of the game seems to be a good thing. THe only bad thing so far is that there is no board yet and not much has complete but the layout is well written and thought out.

Today I finished up my board and started the cards. I thought that I would leave the board as it was but i turned out changing it and modifying it so that you picked different color cards and move to that color.

Today I completed my project. It took me about an hour to finish everything and now it looks good. I think that this project was a bit challenging because it was hard to modify some things and not others. Also, I think it was a good project because it made us realize how hard deisgning games can really be.

Second Prototype

My game and my issue can go well together. The reason I say can is that you need to know how to work the game around the issue, not vice versa. I can create the board spaces to say or teach about terrorism easily.

  • Requirements
    • The game must teach players information about terrorism.
    • The game must use the form and core mechanics of Chutes and Ladders.
    • The game must be playable by two to five players.
    • The game must be capable of being played to completion in 30 minutes or less.
    • All game components must be produced using production methods.
    • Rules must be printed on boards.
    • Cards must be uniform size and shape.
    • Board must be at least the size of printer paper.
    • Rules must be clear and easy to understand.
    • The game must be appealing.
    • The game must be fun to play.
  • Constraints
    • My game may not contain any ideas or expressions that your teacher or peers may find offensive or objectionable
    • My game must fit in a 9”x12” manila folder
    • My second prototype must be ready for testing by the beginning of class on Monday, October 25th.
    • The rules must fit on the back of the board.
    • Game pieces must fir on game squares.
    • The game squares have to be an appropriate size to see everything but not be obnoxiously big.
    • The game must not take more than 3 minutes to set up.

Actually, I think your list of the constraints and requirements for your project are very complete. I am having a hard time thinking as to how it could be improved. For now I don't have any suggestions but I will write another comment if I come up with anything else. Good job!

Excellent requirements and constraints! I have absolutely no constructive criticism for you whatsoever. Sorry, I wish I could be more helpful, though I've already given all of the input that I have to give in class. A++

I did not have an easy time with the Online Graphic Software. It was very frustrating because Sumo Paint wouldn't p=open my file for a while and then I couldn't get the squares the way I wanted like I could in Photoshop. I then tried to use Photoshop Express but it took a very long time to load and I couldn't do a lot of work on it. I have decided to continue to use Photoshop to finish my project.

In class I finished up my rules and printed out my board and rules. At home I finished making the die and the pawns. The pawns took the longest to make since I had to individualize each.  The pawns don't really relate to the game but they are easy to tell apart from each other so no one would get confused.
