Joe and Janie Round Something! Prize Fight #5
Joe and Janie are at it again. It is insane that a married couple would treat each other like this and not show any feelings of sorrow. Janie is stupid. She really is. She was married to another man pre-Joe and was in a bad place, but it was a predictable steady place. Hurston says that women have no dreams and they all die and they are failures blah blah blah (page 17) so her dream is dead so she should stop what she is doing if it is anything at all. She was in a home being a homemaker and future mother. Then some smooth talking somebody who promised her what every girl wants to hear.
She had a schoolyard crush on Joe and she was hoping that it would be better.But the devil you know is better than the devil you dont. She was thrown back into the life she once had destroying a life in the way. She probably ruined her ex-husbands life and I wouldnt be surprised. But anyway, they start off ok, but then diminished into nothing. She has nothing, and she had it worse than before.
On page 61 paragraph 5, Joe is harsh to Janie. She was giving a compliment and her husband was a jerk about it. He treats her like garbage. I was not shocked by the fact that Janie left him later on his deathbed. But in all honesty, two wrongs dont make a right. Though Joe was mean she should have been the bigger person.
They have a horrible relationship and I think that Janie is an idiot. I know I said that before and I still say it again. She wants to spark her life and revive her dreams but hurting herself and everyonbe alone the way is not the way to go.

It caught my attention and it is really suprising that Joe and Janie is getting into a fight after them being really happy with each other and then all of a sudden their relationships beings to fall apart. Joe is not treating Janie right and I believe that she should be with another man.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: "Hurston says that women have no dreams and they all die and they are failures blah blah blah (page 17) so her dream is dead so she should stop what she is doing if it is anything at all. Dreams are really hard to follow and no one can tell you what to do in your life. You have the choice in life to do whatever you please and no one can force you to do something you don't want to do. Womens do have dreams as well as mens, but their dreams are not as wideopen as what Hurston is trying to say. You have to look around the wolrd to find out what you really want to do. Dreams are not meant to be ruined, it is meant to be followed.

This reminds me of something that happened to me and my friend. My friend was with his girlfriend one time and they got into an argument and he was shoving her and everything while she was just standing there crying. She felt so useless so I had to help her out. No man can beat her women like that because they wouldnt like it if a guy was to treat their mother like that. Every women should back up for themselves and no be afraid of their guys.
