So far in the book I feel horrible for what happened to the young servant boy, Hassan because he has to go through so much crap for what he was born as and even though he has wonderful talents for example predicting wind and running he is still hated and even his master/friend khaled hated him even though he didn't express any feeling of hatred openly due to his father liking Hassan so much.

I find this book interesting because it shows me how the Afghanistan people are treated and how their culture is like. the character Hassan is a really nice person and i can not say i have meet anybody who is even close to being like Hassan attitude-wise or emotion-wise.

I learned something new about Khaled and how he must really feel unloved by his father and will go to any lengths to win his love which reminds me of myself when I was a child and how i felt unloved so i did a lot of things that were bad to get attention form my parents which wasn't a very smart idea and when Hassan was picked on by the bullies. It reminded me of when I was picked on as a child and one day I snapped form the pressure and fought them off similar to the way Hassan fought off the bully's.

I am looking forward to reading this book because it is interesting to read and the characters are really intriguing in a way that makes me think what are they going to do next.

Totally agree, Justin. Amir doesn't even talk to Hassan anymore as of page 150 something.  Or his rapist, Ashef. he left his Afghan life behind him.

I kind of agree with you.

I kind of agree with you. However, are you sure that Amir is Khaled. You don't really know that. However, the way Khaled Hosseini describes it, it is like he is Amir. He is that describtive. I really liked the book. I think you did to.

 Jmo, Assuming that you

 Jmo,

Assuming that you have now finished the book I am interested in what you now think about it as you look back. After I read the book it really changed the way I thought and am curious if it did the same for you.

Before reading the book I saw the world from a very one sided point of view. I am not proud of how I used to picture the world as a place where bad things didn't happen every day and people weren't separated from a group just because they were different. But then, as I started to look around I noticed changes, the little things that people, including myself, did just to make them seem better. I am not proud of what I used to see the world as, but after reading the book and making the real life connection it makes me even more glad that I have read the book. I hope that it had an effect on you and I look forward to hearing what the book did for you.
