The Land I Rule
I enjoyed Rachael’s essay, “The Land I Rule”, from quakestories because it’s actually rather entertaining.
One sentence Rachael wrote that stands out for me is: “The rage inside me has since been building with each passing year - until today.” I think this is fantastic because it truly is as though the earth releasing it’s many years of enduring back upon the people inhabiting it. It’s like it equipped a Focus Band after taking a one-hit KO and then blew stuff away with an Endure. See what I did there?
Another sentence that I enjoyed was: “The vast pacific ocean also felt my anger and responded with a huge wall of water that engulfed the entire northeast coast of Japan.” It adds on to the rage the world is feeling and really fits the theme. Sounds like a Surf.
What I appreciate about this writer’s work is the rage. I look forward to see what she writes next.
