I found it really amazing that girls surpass boys in using prescription drugs more according to the studies. I thought guys would use it more because guys are more aggressive and gets easily pissed and stuff while the girls are not really like that. Girls also depend on pain relievers, tranquilizers, and stimulants more and I think I know why because girls have to go through so many pain features in their lives like having there period every month. Also it says 12-17. I think those are very young ages for people to be using so much of these reliever pills and everything.
Nearly 10 percent of teen girls abuse prescription drugs, according to recent national studies. Girls surpass boys in use of and dependence on pain relievers, tranquilizers, and stimulants. The painkillers OxyContin and Vicodin were the most popular drugs for the 12- to 17-year-olds surveyed by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
