Marijuana Legalization
Today I was thinking to myself, “Why are alcohol and prescription drugs legal, but marijuana isn’t?” I mean alcohol has some of the same, if not worse effects on the body, and prescription drugs are at least ten times worse than weed. Not to mention that they are addictive, but weed isn’t. The people pro marijuana legalization are super legit and the people con legalization are stupid J. Also, the THC in marijuana has been known to help through the kemo process for cancer patients. Marijuana is a natural plant that grows in the ground and therefore should be perfectly fine and legal to engage in. I don’t know that much about the pros and cons of legalizing marijuana, but hope to find out more.
The article that I found listed the pros and cons of marijuana legalization. One pro of marijuana legalization is the fact that, if it is legalized, our government could tax it and therefore get more money. “Drug dealers (including some terrorists) would lose most or all of their business.”, Says a specialist at a balanced politics website. One con of legalizing it is the risk of marijuana falling into the hands of smaller and younger kids because of the freedom. “Marijuana is often used as a stepping-stone drug, leading to heroin, cocaine, or other harder drugs.”, says another specialist on the “con” side of legalization. After reading this article, I now understand both pros and cons of legalizing marijuana.
This article had lots of good pros and cons. I agree with a lot of the pros, but not too much of the cons. It seems as if the pros have a lot more feeling behind them. The cons are written from the point of view from some old guy who would sit in his living room telling stories to his grandkids about the days in Nam or some crap like that. Though I agree with pro- legalization, both sides of the party had well thought out arguments.

weed is good everybody loves weed cause it makes you happy and feel good but it makes you lazy. the sky is blue. weed also can cause lung problems. a study was done at oxford and 4 joints=112 cigarettes. the dui's would be outragious if you got caught. you also wouldnt be able to smoke it in public or in restaurants or be high in public
I feel that weed shouldn`t
I feel that weed shouldn`t be such a big deal and problem today because for the most part we can be helpful. For people that got diseases and things wrong with them weed can help. Although we can sometimes make people blank and kills their thinking and gives munchies at least it doesn`t kill you like cigarettes.

I’m also happy that you wrote this post because some of the point that you made is kind of true for some people out there in the world and the government!
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: "Marijuana is a natural plant that grows in the ground and therefore should be perfectly fine and legal to engage in." I think this is true because alcohol is a bad thing but the government and the law still let people part take of this drink that could destroy your lungs! This statements is also true because I know some people that do weed and they are pretty smart and they tend to do more stuff than people that drink!
Another sentence that I liked was: "Today I was thinking to myself, “Why are alcohol and prescription drugs legal, but marijuana isn’t?” " This stood out for me because marijuana do help some doctors with people that have cancer and alcohol does not help you, but it does kill you slowly.
I do agree with you that “One pro of marijuana legalization is the fact that, if it is legalized, our government could tax it and therefore get more money” One reason I say this is because this will help the country with the economy. Another reason I agree with you is because the U.S economy is not too good right now and the weed will kind of make a difference!
