Lil' Wayne Behind Bars

             Regardless of him being one of the most popular mainstream hip-hop artists living today and genuinely being one of my least favorite people to hear within my day, Lil’ Wayne is going to jail. Charged with the possession of an unregistered firearm found in his tour bus last summer, Lil’ Wayne pleaded guilty to the charge in hopes of shortening his sentence. With the court adjourned, Lil’ Wayne now faces up to eight months in jail. 

“Aww shit, their stopping us.”-Lil’ Wayne 

            It all began last summer when boarder patrol stepped into Wayne’s tour bus and smelled something fishy, or should I say skunky? Regardless of the smell, the officer promptly executed a search on the tour bus. Upon being notified, one of Wayne’s friends ran to the back room, brought out a backpack and ran into the bathroom. With police knocking on the door several toilet flushes took place until the police were able to knock down the door. They confiscated what they said was used to store up to seven ounces of marijuana. Continuing the search, the boarder police also found cocaine and meth onboard along with an unregistered firearm.  All drug possession charges were dropped from Lil’ Wayne but he will be going to jail for the unregistered firearm. I don’t like the man’s music one bit but I can say for myself and a lot of people that it’s probably a good thing he wasn’t caught with the entire loot of drugs he had or else he would be away from the music scene for a long, long time.
