I finished reading The Blue Eye which connects to racial discrimination since whites are seen as beautiful along with shirley temples, blue eyes, thin; the main character is a girl name Pecola who wishes she has blue eyes in order to see the world through a different perspective; she undergoes people treated her like crap due to how she looks.

Something weird is the ending (sorry to spoil it) well she ends up losing her sanity; she believes she has obtained the highly praised blue eyes. She feels like she is looked upon differently. She talks to herself and finds herself without any friends. I feel bad for her because once you read the book you find out how she was abused by her father whom she thinks loves her and became preganat and lost the baby. -_-

Toni Morrison is the author and i think her books portray that beauty is not always good it is destructful; it creates a wanting of beauty which is fake. NO ONE IS PERFECT. society portrays the ideal beauty.
