Looking forward to more bluntness in The Catcher in the Rye

Recently I read pages 16-28 in The Catcher in the Rye by J.D salinger and I ddin't really have much thought about the book. I sort of feel listless with it instead. I mean for now it just seems as though he;s listing facts about himself or it just seems as though hes talking about insignificant things. I guess I'll have to keep reading to find out. One thing I most certainly realized about the book was the audacity and fecklessness of this author. He's just so blunt and straightforward with all the cursing he does. It isnt really a high class book, it's just very quintessential.

One line that stood out for me was, "He hardly ever went anywhere, he was a very peculiar guy" I think this is in fact strange because getting out is important. For me personally, i dont really get out much,im in here most of the time so therefore my social skills arent all that great but yeah the point is there are other people out there. In the book, there is this kid named ackley who is the kid that doesnt go anywhere and now hes labeled strange. That's another thing: just because he stays in the house all day doesn't mean hes strange! It makes absolutely no sense. See this is what's wrong with the world today. We make these rediculous judgements on people.

Another line that pondered about was "I'm the most terrfiic liar you ever saw in your life." This stood out for me because of exactly that...he lied, and that's not cool. When you lie, you set in motion a series of incorrect events. If you tell the truth, whatever is supposed to happen, will happen. That's how the world works. When you lie, I honestly think you tear a hole in the universe but that's just my opinion.

This section of The Catcher in the Rye reminds  me of something that happened to me. One time I ordered some adult films on my television and my mom got the bill and she was furious so she called me in the room. She asked me who ordered these?? I "lied" and blamed in on another boy that was staying with us at the time. When he came home,she called him into the room and she started yelling at him and hes telling her how he ddint do it. Hes begging and pleading and everything so finally I go in the room and tell her that I didn't do it. That's when she says, "I was not going to beat you if you had told me the truth, but now I'm going to beat you." So see? There's a lesson to be learned here.

What's probably going to happen next is that the boy will probably do Ackleys work for him, and there might be some problems that arise because already this book is full of complaints.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of the book because its a tad intresting, although it's sort of boring but at the same time. Theres somehting about it that hooks you. Like i said before, there's that whole bluntness thing, so im looking for more of that to.
