My topic is about overpopulation and how it will affect our life once natural resources are gone. It caught my attention because it really made me think about the future. I know that overpopulation has been talked about, but not in a teenager’s point of view. I hope to find answers about what will be our next step when we don’t have natural resources. What could help decrease the population? What can help women not have unwanted babies? My thesis is that the population will not be threatened if there was more family planning.

My research is about many things. It talks about the the one-child policy in China which is one example of decreasing the population in China. This policy isn’t really the best but the government try to make it work. I came across elderly women still wanting to have babies. I believe that is one of the reason why the population is increasing. Elderly women are still having children in their mid 60’s. In Gulu family planning, the man of the house make the decision of having babies. In my opinion a woman should always have a saying because she is going be carrying the baby for 9 months. I hope to find out why wasn’t overpopulation stop in a period of time.

Research isn’t the easiest thing to do. You must stay focus and you can’t lose hope because you are not going feel accomplished. Research has been frustrating because something you have the perfect question, but you can’t find the answer. There also time when you find a good article but doesn’t have a reliable source. A challenge I have been facing is find good reliable source that could make my research awesome. I hope that people actually read, learn, and promote it to their friends and families.

Dear Vicki, I really enjoyed your post on overpopulation because I wholeheartedly agree with you. We are populating our planet faster than it can provide resources for us. I liked you comment on how the government in China is trying to make the one child policy rule work. It should be a family's right, but some regulation should be imposed in China in order to keep the environment stable in that area. I hope that you continue to research overpopulation and come up with solutions to the problem. Thanks for your writing and good luck in the future!

Strong work!

It's been fun watching you and helping you through the research process. You're right: it's NOT easy! A topic like yours has SO MUCH information, and you've spent a lot of time weeding your way through it to find the most relevant stuff for your paper.

I know you've learned a lot, and I'm excited to read the final product soon!
