The first section of The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer might leave a reader feeling miserable because the main character Dave was abused by his beloved mother. Their family used to be really happy and cheerful, but then his mother suddenly changed. She became mean and always take her anger on Dave, but not the other two sons. An example of this is on page 11. " How many times have you told me about The Boy? The Boy this. The Boy that. The Boy, The Boy, The Boy. " This is mean and terrible because in the family, Dave is a nobody. His mom and dad call him The Boy instead of his name, Dave.

So far, the characters in The Lost Boy might remind a reader of a story in the news. What happened was there are a lot of stalking and abusing going on in America. After this part of the book, most readers probably will be looking forward to reading the rest of this book because this book is so sad and it makes the readers feel bad for Dave. This book can persuade people to stop abusing from happening. What's probably going to happen next is Dave will find a good foster parents and live a happy life.

Dear Cora,

I agree with your post about "The Lost Boy". I read this book a few years back after reading "A Child Called It" , (it was very addicting, although very sad) I completely agree with you , " After this part of the book, most readers probably will be looking forward to reading the rest of this book because this book is so sad and it makes the readers feel bad for Dave" ,because it is exactly what I did. Readers become serious whether Dave actually became successful in life or continued living in poverty...

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because I actually enjoyed reading this book , (however much depressing it actually was) and maybe we might share similar likes towards books...

Dear Cora,

This was really astonishing.

It was powerful.

Now I feel like reading the book: "The Lost Boy".

When I read your Discussion I almost cried a little.

I felt bad for Dave already.

Your writing is strong.
