The Magic of March
It’s that time of year again. That’s right, March Madness! This is the month of a lot of things that we aren’t normally accustomed to. People actually start to pay attention to college basketball, then they scramble in order to fill out their brackets that predict who they think who will win the NCAA title for that year. They then look at the celebrities who have also filled out their brackets (e.g. Barack Obama - who evidently doesn’t have anything more important to do). For the following weeks, people all around the country will be glued to the T.V. and any electronic device that could give them a possible update for any given game. Some will begin to see the flaws in their bracket and decline to watch anymore games, that is until the championship game. But only those who truly enjoy the game will continue to watch and admire the magical atmosphere that has been brought about. The amount of games will start to well up and eventually we will be left with two teams (neither of which you picked in your bracket). Everyone will gather with their friends and watch the finals. A champion will be crowned. A great celebration will occur from players, coaches, fans, and any other supporters from that certain school. Then everyone will go back to their daily lives and will have to wait another full year to partake in the process again. This is in short the ‘magic of march’.
