Matheson = Pelosi?

Campaign signs saying, "Matheson=Pelosi" were put up in Utah to support Morgan Philpot and oppose Jim Matheson. Spin was used in the signs to equate Jim Matheson to Democrat and, now former, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Matheson is not female, a Representative from California, nor the Speaker of the House since 2007, so he obviously isn't Nancy Pelosi and the signs are literally untrue. The signs are used symbolically to try to convince voters in ultra-Republican Utah that Matheson is just another Democrat, like Pelosi, even though he has generally voted moderately. This campaign ploy helped make the election closer than originally expected, though Matheson still won.
