I've always loved the fact that my name is unique; set apart from others. Although it is a common name, the spelling is what creates a difference. And even though I can never find my name on those little souvenir key chains when on vacation, I don't recall ever wishing that my name was anything other than itself. I like being the only Megann Knapp you can find on the internet.

My name is Greek and Welsh. In Greek, it means great, and in welsh, it means pearl. Although, that's not why I was given this name. I'm named after an old family friend of my parents; Ann. She died in a car accident before I was born, so when I was expected, Megann was decided, in honor of her.

People have been spelling my name incorrectly since day one. That's just something I have to deal with, as do many others. But I have to say that this is one of my pet peeves. Even so, my name is something that will always describe me.
