Monster - Almost me
I’ve been reading this book called Monster by Walter Dean Myers and what I'm thinking about is that this character Steve will do almost life in prison for something he has never did, but the idea of him snitching is going to get him in trouble in the streets.
This book is very interesting and something I can relate too because I once was locked up, and it was not even my fault. I can relate to Steven. An example of what I mean is on page 13: "You think were going to win. It probably depends on what you mean by 'win'." I think this is a scary moment because of course if your lose, he going to face up to years. Just the sense of winning probably is a long shot, but the lawyer will fight for him. It's only up to the jury and judge.
So far the plot is: Steven is in jail and he talks about what he’s in jail for and about hanging with the wrong crowd. He also is in a court room with his case. There is a kind of flashbacks now and than. He was happy and felt like he was pure and was able to not get in any more trouble... for a while.
This reminds me something important in my life because I remember I was going to get put a way for months, but my attorney helped me to get six months of probation and community service.
I am very looking forward to reading more in this book to see what Steven does to prove himself into getting not guilty. It's really a good book to read.
