I'm learning more about depression right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: Why do people become depressed? As I was reading in my Google Reader, this news item caught my attention because, I read in the article that, "There are possible which media exposure could boost the risk of depression". I don't think that this sentence is a fact, It just doesn't make sense, how could T.V make a teen depressed???
The quote I chose here is basically saying that certain things that are being shown on T.V can make a teen become depressed.
I think that this is statement is very opinionated because not all people would think that what a teen watches on T.V would make them become depressed. I disagree with this quote, because I don't think a T.V can make a teen depressed...it just doesn't make sense.
There are several possible ways by which media exposure could boost the risk of depression, the researchers say. The time spent watching TV or using other electronic media may replace time spent socializing, participating in sports or engaging in intellectual activities - all of which may protect against depression.

Dear KHarris
I liked your post "

," because it is talkig about all the recent issues of teens and the problems they are going trough and how the TV influences them.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: "There are possible which media exposure could boost the risk of depression" I think this is a lie because Tv and stuff like that are supposed to entertain you not make you moredepressed and i think that is a lie made up to stop us from watching TV.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because it is interesting and i want to hear more about it and if that was a lie or not.
