My Domination of the World Economy

Identifying
From the list of games given to us the one game I chose was oligarchy. This game was the one that featured the rise of the oil industry from the times of the second world war till now. This game is also the one that largely interacts with the economy and politics over the course of the 20th century. Overall it is a very sophisticated and fun game that requires brains, skills, and a sense of humor.

Elements
There are a few elements of the game that constantly seem to reappear throughout the game. One such element is politics. Every 4 years a presidential race occurs and the new president can either support or object to your economic conquest . Another reoccurring element is currency or money. Throughout the game you will receive money to fuel your business. You use the money to help in your journey to find oil. The amount of money you make can help you receive better or equipment but if you are in debt the shareholders may just fire you. Another reoccurring element are the environment and people. Due to all the oil drilling the environment is drastically affected and that makes people really mad. They will start vandalizing your equipment and ravage oil fields.

Achieving Victory
Though this game may sound easy it actually is ultra super duper easy. All you need to do really is make as much money as possible until you have a global monopoly on the worlds oil industry and along the way remove obstacles such as environmentalists, politicians who don't support your cause, and trouble making civilians. All in all just try to be as ruthless as you can possibly can get.:]

What keeps you hooked on?
What kept me hooked on was the fact that game was really funny. I was laughing while playing this game. Another thing that kept me and other people hooked on was the many different diverse locations that existed throughout the world in that game. It allowed the game play to be different every time it was played. It was the best game on the list in my opinion.

Sarfi, I don't agree with everything you say. For one thing; the game isn't super duper easy. I was there when you were playing the game and you got fired. but i do agree on how funny the game is. you put the mouse over one of the Iraqians and it says ,"Terrorist?". consider these points
