My Favorite Memory of the Beast Odarri, a.k.a Mothra

Odarri was known by many names, Enigma, Rex (T-Rex), and Big Man, but not many people know him by his judo name: Mothra.

He got this nickname from fighting me in judo: Godzilla v.s. Mothra Our names came frombour sheer strength and size.

I would like other people to know this nickname and not have this name forgotten.

I will miss fighting him in judo. Fighting Odarri was pretty much the whole reason that I came to judo. He was a challenge, strong, and always pushing me to fight harder, and stronger.

Since the start of the year he was so very anxious and excited to fight me again because it was fun and honorable. He was the best person I ever fought, he always got me to fight harder, to go to that next step.

I will miss fighting him so much, the positive encouragement, the support when I was down, and the gentle smile that he held when I succeeded in a throw on him.

I will also remember him on culture night, the night when he and I were always the finale of the Judo presentation. There was an explosion that followed with the last throw that made the crowd gasp in fear and amazement, only to see the one who got thrown (the uke) get up like nothing ever happen, and give the very last bow of respect.

I will never forget such good times.
