When my family brought a new house and it was the best thing that ever happened to my life. That is because of 2 very good reasons I had come up with as i lived in this new house. One is that this new house my family brought gave me times of laughter and times of new experience in seeing new things that I wouldn't see in my old house. Those would be seeing a horse crap on the street. Also many new cars and building along with nature that was like amazing to me since I have never seen such large trees in Corona. Now that I live in Forest Hills its given me so much time to spend walking around to see the new "world" for me and less time at home.

The second reason was that I get used to a different culture since in my neighborhood there is very little Chinese food or everything that Chinese people like to eat from. There's more of Italian food and more food that I never ate before. These stores have been up for more then 50 years. That is because in a restaurant called "Alberto" has a signs that said "Alberto is now 50!" and I was amazed since in Corona there is no shop that is opened for more then 10 years. Also there a store named "Traders Joe" which i never heard about but now I have. It is a store I never knew we had in the world till I moved into my new home. At this new home I know I will never starve but these new food is something I got to try before i ever move again.

It’s been 1 or so months when I moved into my new house. The house we moved into was in a block that has the exactly the same building. In front of our house was a horse stable. The people would usually let them out and walk around with someone watching them. One day of the week they did that and then I saw a horse crapped on the street. Once I saw that, about 30 minute later a group of people came to the stable. They were holding a birthday party with about 30 little kids about 2nd to 3rd grade. There was also a little kid about 1 or 2 years of age. The party started and all the kids begin to start to sit down and the horses were coming back out. As the parents went inside to get the horses the kids stayed outside. The 2 year old boy went to the pile of crap the horse left on the street before. He then just sat there while I sat down on the sofa edge and watch this happening. I thought he was going to get back up and walk away but instead he put his hand into the pile of crap. He picked it up and looked at it and then started to smell it. The kid made a weird face and looked at it again. He took more and played with it like as if it was clay of some sort. Then after about a few minute of playing and pounding he placed it in front of her face and tasted it. In the next second he stood up spit it out and cried to his mom. His mom was laughing but also concerned but all the other kids were laughing. I too was laughing and fell off the sofa edge. I then laughed my way into my room and went to my bed. On my bed I was laughing and as if I was crying. That was probably the best laugh I ever gotten ever since I moved into this new home. I then went and turned on my computer and play some games and gave me a few more laughs and that was my best day in that new home.

This day was when I laughed the most, even after I moved into my new home that my family brought. As you can see that this day was my best day since I had moved into this new house of mine. Now there is another time when it was before this when I ACTUALLY moved into my new home.

In the year 2006 my families settle on buying a new home for us. We used to live in Corona Queens but then our home became old. So we looked for a new house that was for sale. We looked for about 2 months but then my dad found the house i am living in right now. He was searching randomly when he came across a block of new houses and settled on 1 of the many that was for sale. The day we moved in was around 4AM because we do this tradition we do whenever we buy a new house. When we were doing this I didn’t keep time and it stroke 8 o'clock and I was late for school. After school was over I came home. Everything was brand new. It looked so amazing but I knew this wouldn’t last. Instead it got better. I’ve seen so many things I thought I wouldn’t see, for example horses. This house was in such a good neighborhood that it was so different from when I was still in Corona. I was able to sleep well at night, concentrate when doing Homework, and even leave stuff outside of the garage and no one will steal it. This new home made me and my family feel safer and calmer. Forest Hills gave my family easy access to work by bus and train and me too to go to school. I always hated the idea of moving but this experience changed my thoughts because when i was young I used to move once about every month or so and it gets really annoying. This time it is different and I am starting to like this very much.
My family brought a new home in a clean, quiet, nice area in Queens which changed somewhat part of my life. With every new home there is a big amount of money involved and everyone knows that. Our house wasn't cheap so in the next story it is about me and my dad going out into the state looking for a decent job which is a Flea Market.

1 year after I moved into my new house my dad was looking for a job. He wanted a 99cents store or a flea market. My dad said that this might be a slow process to start off a good business but he said he will give it a shot. He was looking for these places in Chinese and Indian newspaper. We asked a guy in a shop to help us read the Indian newspapers and it went well until we saw it for ourselves. He gave us 2 addresses 1 in Queens 1 in Manhattan. We went to the Manhattan one first because we can go to the Queens one on our way back. The market in Manhattan was HUGE. It was perfect for the business. The price on the other hand was REALLY high so we just kept that one in mind only. On our way back I saw police mans on horseback. I was amazed how they were holding so much stuff. The cop was chatting with another police and then they were off. We were too and we went to the one in Queens. On our way there we saw this really big horse stable. It was probably the size of the Shea Stadium parking lot. It also smelled really bad but I guess I didn’t pay much attention to that. I was amazed on what was inside. There were huts for the horses and even a horse track. But soon we passed it and we went to see the market in Queens. When we got there I couldn’t believe what I saw. It was literally a dump. The price for it was too high too so my dad just said no to it. On our way back we went through the side of the stable again. Yet I was still amazed on how big it is because the one in front of my house is like only 1/100 of the size of that thing. The view of the place was very nice and on the way back I even saw a horse riding school being held. In about 30 min we were back at our house and my dad said, “No luck again, NEVER any luck. But Phil you know we be out looking again tomorrow.” Once he said that I just went into my room and slept from then till morning and didn’t care about anything.

When my dad and I went out on a flea market hunt, we had no luck but very nice sight seeing. With all of these adventures in the first month of me moving into my new house, I had the most fun. I was able to go places I never been to before and see things i never seen before too.

That reminds me of...

Dear PHuang,

I loved your message "My Move My Seeing" because when I was younger I moved too. I didnt move very far, only across the street & a bit down the block - but it opened my eyes to a lot of new sights. I met a lot of new people by just moving a bit farther into the block.

One sentence you wrote that stands out to me is "Now that I live in Forest Hills its given me so much time to spend walking around to see the new "world" for me and less time at home." I think this is true because thats how it was for me. I met so many new people when I moved - they would always come to my window and call me outside so we could hang out. I was almost never home.

Another sentence that I liked was " I was able to go places I never been to before and see things i never seen before too." this stood out for me because it seems that you have learned a lot from moving and I feel how its so funny how much you can learn from just being outside.

Your story reminds me of something that happened to me. One time I saw a little boy trying to eat dog poop, he was so confused and he was just so curious. It reminds me of your story because I ended up laughing so hard when he tried to eat it.

Thanks for your writing. I look foward to seeing what you write next because you seem to put humor into your story. The only advice I can give you about your writing is try and do it in time order so its less confusing.

Moving is Also Hard Sometimes

I liked Philippe's essay, "My Move,My Seeings" because I loved the title. The title stood out to me so i felt like reading it and it was a really good story. I also like that picture that you have of that horse. It is so funny and your story was also really interesting so I started reading it.

One sentence Huang wrote that stands out for me is "The second reason was that I get used to a different culture since in my neighborhood there is very little Chinese food or everything that Chinese people like to eat from." I think this is very hard for you because it would be hard for me as well. To adapt to a different culture is very hard because your not use to their food and their custom. I wouldn't be able to live without Chinese food!! Whats wrong with you?, barely any Chinese food. I would not live without it since I have been eating my whole life.

Another sentence that I enjoyed was "He picked it up and looked at it and then started to smell it." This stood out for me because it is really funny. I never want to sniff anything like doo doo. "EWWW", its so disgusting. Why would you sniff it in the first place? I would be so disgusted and it smells so bad. Also as well I wouldn't look at it, looking at it just makes me want to puke. I would never do such a thing like that.

I agree with Huang with that he saying it is hard to move which it is because you need to adapt to new stuff and everything and then you don't know anyone around and you have to make new friends and everything and it is really hard. Another reason that I agree with was that it is hard to settle in somewhere new because you dont know around and you dont know where to go and everything.

What I appreciate about this writer's work is the stuff that he wrote above moving. I look foward to seeing what he writes next because the title stood out for me and the stuff that he wrote was really funny as well. Bring back more of your funny thoughts when you write your stories because I love to see it and especially read it.

Hi, after reading your blog, I realized the stable you talked about was the one that I work at. I work at Lynne's and I don't live too far from it. It was very strange to hear from someone who lives possibly near me on this blog site. I saw that you were interested in technology from your profile. You might be interested in my blog its called Robots to the Rescue... or Not? Check it out and comment if you'd like.
