My New "Path"
Tonight I was trying to figure out something to do since I had slipped into a senioritis spell and decided on looking for new apps to download. I don't do this often but the occasional search for a new app can be kind of invigorating when you stumble upon something that is truly wonderful. A few months ago it was Temple Run, then Scramble With Friends, then Draw Something. I quickly got burnt out by all of these from the repetitive use so I decided to search for something new.
Social networking has become somewhat of an addiction. During the summer I became addicted to Twitter, which has seemed to have a popular surge at school this year; many people have become chronic "tweeters". So I decided to look at this new social networking app I saw; it was called Path and the simple title drew me in. I clicked install and, so far, I have found the app to be quite cool.
Maybe because it has been stormed by my high school peers yet, but I feel that I can actually write my thoughts and put cool things on there without being judged. I used to feel that way about Twitter but it quickly has turned into people whining for how bad their days were or other lame things. I mean I'm all for the occasional tweet about a boring day at school, but it pushes it when it's everyday. Although I may not think people are interesting on Twitter, and I'm not saying I have ever said anything important either, I don't think people have the right to sub tweet whining about people's tweets like they aren't seeing it on their own timelines. So it is almost refreshing to be able to be the first to explore a new app and put what I want without certain people actually seeing it or judging it.
Path is described as "the smart journal that helps you share life with the ones you love." It allows you to share music, photos, and other things with people. Yes, it sounds an awful lot like Twitter, except for the fact that it isn't as popular. I still use Twitter all the time, but I'm trying to give this app some love too. I most likely will end up getting burned out on Path too, but the premise as of now is keeping me hooked and wondering about it more and more. So for now I will use both.
