My Response to Jamie, My Song 5
I was lost and distracted by the song by Jamie “My song 5,” on quakestories
because it was very confusing and very unusual. I’ve never heard a
story like this. Is this a story? It sounds more like her telling a
scary story to a group of scared little kids. I don’t hear any beat and
she isn’t singing any lyrics. Jamie is just talking, mostly yelling.
Her voice goes in and out, it gets louder and harder, but then softer,
and sometimes deep. Is she or someone she knew a victim of the
earthquake that has happened in Japan ?
One
sentence that Jamie said that stands out for me is: “Then my dad said,
son are you alright”, this confused me, because I thought all along
that Jamie was a girl singing and telling this story. After hearing
this, it left me wondering, what happened to Jamie, why did his father
ask him if he was alright? Why doesn’t he mention his mother? There are
so many questions to be asked after hearing this.
Something
else that I found confusing was the sound effects. No other sentence
really grabbed my attention. The sound effects drove me crazy.
Honestly, I think it’s unnecessary.
What
I appreciate about this writers work is the expression Jamie had
throughout his post. It was a bit unusual, but it was also kind of
interesting at the same time. I would like to know if he was a victim
of the earthquake. I want to know what motivated him to create this
post. I did enjoy listening to his post though, and I hope he comes out
with a part two.
