My thoughts on Rothschild's writing
I enjoyed reading the article from Matthew Rothschild " global warming challenge" from the 2008 progressive magazine. I enjoyed it because everything written on that article was pure emotions, and opinion. I got to see , read how people were feeling, or more the author felt about it. I also enjoyed that he blocked up his opinions with facts, that would make it even more interesting to read.
Rothschild wrote that stands out for me is "George bush had committed so many criminal and derelict acts its hard to figure our which ones are the worst of them all." This quote stood out for me because it made me see how bad people see our nations president's actions. It seems like some people don't see it as irresponsibility or anything that could be just a normal mistake. But they see it as a crime like he does some fatal stuff.
Another sentence that I found interesting was " we have already gone to far" "time is running out." This stood out for me because I found it weird that people are saying that we are running out of time. I think that we still tons of time left, maybe not much but not very little either. We still have time for a change, if we do not change we have no time left. I also like how Rothschild sees everything in a way the normal people would look at it.
I do agree with Rothschild point of the article. I think that what he is trying to present to the people is that he wants people to know what exactly is going on wit our president, and with his decisions, and wants us to choose very carefully this time with our new candidates. Although we do blame bush for what has happened to out country and the war, and the economic crises, and all that, we have the same fault, we choose him to be our leader. We agreed that his ideas were whats bets for our nation, and maybe that was our mistake, we want change now, well we have to make it by changing and choosing the right candidate that will bring it. Another reason I agree to what the Rothschild si trying to say in this article is that the main issue is global warming, and he also tries to make us participate in what is now a global movement to reducing carbon dioxide, and helping our planet continue without any suffering of climate change. I agree that he says that we have to see carefully of what Algore is offering and what Obama is offering and even what McCain is offering.
What I appreciate about this writers work is that he uses his opinions and he back them up with fact, unlike others that just say stuff because they think they are right, and use some obsolete facts. I like his form of trying to persuade people into reading his article "Global Warming Challenge" the title engaged me into seeing what this guy is writing about. I look forward to what he write, because so far I like what he wrote already. His article are about real life and real world problems, and that is what interests me a lot.
