Children in the Nebo school district will be hearing Barack Obama's speech nine days late due to the initial decision of district officials to not show the speech. Officials said the speech would not be aired due to timing and lack of information on the subject matter. After many complaints from parents, they decided to air the speech nine days later. One parent stated "the initial decision illustrated a climate of political bullying in the schools, where children have been attacked because their parents supported Obama in the last election."

What has this country come to, where the president needs to be censored. A man that represents one whole branch of the government should not have to be censored. Since Obama was elected, the political climate has changed drastically. Republicans all over the country have become vocal in their short-sighted views. Anything coming from Fox news, Sarah Palin, and Rush Limbaugh is picked up by the conservative base and amplified. Just because someone is on television doesn't mean they are credible sources of information to rely solely upon.

Republicans need to accept the fact that this country has a Democratic President and he's here to stay for another 3 years. When you become the minority party in government, you don't also have to become three year olds.
