Winston Churchill once said, “Pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” In other words this quote is saying a person who is a doubter or disbeliever only looks at the negative is a certain situation while a positive thinker/dreamer/idealist recognizes the negatives and know the positives exceeds the negative because the bigger picture is more rewarding. In my life I can be a mix of a pessimistic and an optimistic person. It depends how I’m feeling on such given day. But if I would have to choose a side I’m more favorable on I would say the optimistic side. I tend to be a more optimistic in my life because I have goals and dreams that I want to accomplish, and I’m aware of the fact that if I don’t do for myself what it takes to accomplish my goals then I won’t ever succeed. Humans weren’t made to be perfect, so it would be a lie if I said I never had a pessimistic day in my life. Days when I’m bored and tired of school I say can be my most pessimistic days. But I try to surround myself with people who care to see do better in life and that are a positive influence towards me. This keeps me being proactive and optimistic towards my life.

In my high school life, so far I feel like I’m in a good spot academically. I’m trying to keep my grades in a competitive position among other students in the country. I feel that I have achieved the expectation that I had for my parents and myself to maintain the honor role. When I think of school I try to be optimistic and think of the bigger picture which is college and scholarships. This helps me to stay focus and not slack off. I’m happy that Math Class is such a breeze for me and I understand it well. But I’m less-than-satisfied that I’m having trouble with Global Class. I think once I pass my Global Regents Exam that will be a major accomplishment for since I had trouble with it.

It’s April which means it’s time for some Spring cleaning-- one of the toughest cleanings ever, since your going to have to get down and dirt and take out all the negative in your life and occupy it with positive things. It sounds tough but very rewarding and achieving. I’m kind of excited to do some Spring cleaning in my life since I have a mini bucket list I want to accomplish for now until the summer. First of all, I want to get all of my grades in the 90’s and aim for an average of 93 or higher. Since I like to prove to myself that I have had improvement every quarter, and that I can do anything I set my mind to. Another goal I have set is to either take summer classes for my Junior Year, so I can try to graduate earlier. If that doesn’t work out then I definitely want a summer job. I want to have a proactive summer where I can better myself. Also another goal I have a better relationship with my mother since we tend to bum head most of the time. Lastly, I want to try start focusing on colleges that attract my interest. I want to be prepared by my Senior Year.

In this new season of life, I’m looking to improve myself and make myself a better person. I want to be optimistic person who attempts to seek new opportunities. The less negatively in my life the smoother it will be. I want to be able to see a glimpse of my potential to be able to accomplish anything. It's important for me to end my Sophomore Year with no regrets. My motto for this Spring cleaning season is try to find the good in everything.

Eleisha, it was a pleasure reading your blog about "New Season with Life Opportunities" it's very inspiring. I enjoyed ALL of it. Your first paragraph is so true "person who is a doubter or disbeliever only looks at the negative is a
certain situation while a positive thinker/dreamer/idealist recognizes
the negatives and know the positives exceeds the negative because the
bigger picture is more rewarding" with that being said I think I will follow it as my motto in life. I wish you alot of luck with your attempts to seek new opportunities.
