The New World We Live In

Technology has become the most useful thing to us in our generation. Unless you live in a very poor country, everyone has phones, computers, televisions, video games, and more that they use everyday. Technology has such an enormous impact on our lives that many people have become a slave to technology and would much rather spend time watching tv than go outside and exercise. It is as if people start living in the worlds of tv shows and video games rather than the real world that they live in. Addiction to technology has gotten so bad that in some rare cases people have died from using technology for an extended period of time. Technology has also made human interaction unnecessary with texting, emails, and phone calls. I believe that people should balance technology with the real world but it is very hard to do this when, a lot of the time, people have to use technology for the job that they do. Technology is changing the world we live in for better and for worse.

Dear Brian,

I am very interested in this post “The new world we live in” because it has a lot to do with my research on money for survival. The new technology today has a lot to do with money and everything around it. I totally agree that technology is very useful today, i use my phone all the time for everything. Its like you don't even need a computer anymore nowadays.

One sentence you wrote that stood out to me was “ I believe that people should balance technology with the real world but it is very hard to do this when, a lot of the time, people have to use technology for the job that they do.” because people can lose their jobs for using their phones all the time. A Lot of things can happen when you do so. You get very distracted to stuff like this.

I'm learning more about how we need money in this world to survive and your post is kind of similar because people spend their money on technology when they suppose to be spending it on stuff they really need. Why does people use their money to buy games and get hooked to it that they forget about what life really offers because they are so hypnotized? I came about this article called “Activist Journey To Life” and it caught my eyes because its telling me why we need money and what money has us buying all sorts of crazy things.

“The truth is that we have absolutely no interest in helping those who are less fortunate, as we are more concerned for our own well being, emotionally and physically.”

Poolman, C. (2012). Activist's Journey To Life: Day 135: Money Is The Root Of All Evil. [online] Available at: http://activistsjourneytolife.blogspot.com/2012/08/day-135-money-is-root... [Accessed: 21 Sep 2012].

The quote i chose here is basically telling me that people really don't care about anything but themselves when it comes to money. THey would buy anything they want to please themselves. Just forget about everyone elses feelings and just make themselves happy by buying different sorts of things. Like nowadays guys buy video games and cant no one tell them not to stop playing because if they do all hell will break loose.

Based on this source i totally agree with you that technology has taken over the world because everyday people are hooked to video games, everyday people day off of text messages while driven and all other sorts.

Thanks for your post and i look forward to seeing what you write next because this really caught my eyes and connects to my research in all sorts of ways. Connecting with money, and everything else that comes with it.

Dear Brian,
I totally agree with this post. I really loved how you said, "Technology has such an enormous impact on our lives that many people have become a slave to technology." Comparing users of technology to slaves shows the impact that its had on us. I think this is a good thing to talk
about. I believe you chose this topic because you, as well as everyone else on a wealthy country, experience it. Although most of those people don't know they are addicted. That's why I think think is such a great thing write about, to show them that they really are addicted.

dear Brian,
I agree with you when you said that " people should balance technology with the real world." people are becoming so obsessed with technology that they are focusing more on things that don't even matter instead of the important things in the real world.

no face to face communication

I totally agree with your statement, "Technology has also made human interaction unnecessary with texting, emails, and phone calls. I believe that people should balance technology with the real world." In our modern society, everyone communicates through email, texting, or other social media like Facebook and Instagram. People in our generation just don't talk face to face anymore. We can have super long, in depth conversations over text but when we see that same person in real life, it's nearly impossible to have a real, not awkward conversation. Technology is making our social skills disappear.

This is so true

Dear Brian

I am truly fascinated about your post The new world we live in because it is something iv'e been thinking about lately. What would life be like without all this technology?
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is "Technology has such an enormous impact on our lives that many people have become a slave to technology and would much rather spend time watching tv than go outside and exercise." I think technology is the reason we have problems such as obesity, less graduations, violence, etc. I think life without technology would be more sustainable. Another sentence you wrote that stands out to me is "Technology is changing the world we live in for better and for worse." because Technology is changing the world we live in for better and for worse. The bad part about technology is that people get distracted easily.. Recently I decided to do some research on how to become self discipline to help prevent me from these distraction. I learned the more you practice will power, which is the ability to overcome laziness and procrastination. It will help you overcome the desire to indulge in unnecessary and useless habits, such as t.v, cellphones, etc...
Will power and self-discipline are two powers to choose our behaviors and reactions, instead of being ruled by them. It is so hard to eliminate something that has been around for many years and keep becoming more and more advance so why not learn to control these desires so instead of being for better and worst, it can be only for the better..
Thanks for your writing I look forward to seeing what you write next because this was really interesting...

Dear Brian,

I am frantic about your post , i had to comment right away because our world today is wrapped around technology . We as people depend on technology to survive and communicate .I agree it has become the most useful in our generation . I’d like to know all the advantages & disadvantages of technology . I want to be able to “ balance the real world & technology .

You say “ Technology is changing the world for the better and the worse “. I’d like to know exactly what you feel the advantages and disadvantages are. Since we depend on technology so much what will we do without it ? Have we as people become addicted to the use of technology ?

I enjoyed reading your post . It caused me to question myself about how technology affects me and the rest of the world . I look forward to see what you write next . I would like to know your concerns about the world . thanks for writing .
