NHL LOCKOUT

       I totally agree with you about how we need hockey and the people who work for the NHL deserve plenty more and so do the fans. I Think that this is so stupid. I mean c'mon if you are in the NHL you are making lots and lots of money. The avaerage NHL hockey player makes approximately $2 Milion per year. How isn't that enough? That is plenty more then an average person makes.

       I think that this is very selfish of the players to do. Thats 82 games straight to the garbage. They have wasted almost a whole season becuase of money. I am very disappointed that there is not going to be a 2012-2013 season. I am hoping that the NHL works this problem out and they are able to have a shortend season. Its better then nothing!

I completely agree, this is a huge loss for the NHL because after gaining a lot of popularity in this years playoffs we aren't even going to have a season. This is going to turn away new fans and maybe old fans who have watched the game for years becuase they have been through this too many times. A year without hockey is just a boring existence. The fans do deserve more and this should have been solved already. Everyday we lose players to other leagues because they just can't afford to not get paid.

This is unfair to both parties, the players and the owners because getting the deal done would benefit them both. I personally would take no pay just to have the priveledge of playing in the NHL. Yet all the players get millions. That doesn't mean the owners are wrong though. The players can be greedy. The owners do need money to expand their teams to the best. All in all we do want hockey and even though from October 11 to the 24 has been canceled. We can still get some hockey in. Hopefully it will get done. 

I completely agree with you. I play hockey my self and I think it would be bad if they canceled two weeks of games. But then again two weeks of no games is not that long a time. If they were to cancel a month lets say then that would be every very bad. I do not agree with professionals playing just for the love of the game. If they just played for the love of the game they would not be as serious about training.

I think that the subject or reason for the lockout is completely bogus. I think it is right for hockey players to make such a commotion over some money. The current salary caps have been working for some time now. If the league allowed the salary cap to be lifted that would put smaller teams in the trash because the big teams could buy out every good player with money that the smaller teams just dont have.

I agree with you about the situation regarding this lockout. It is just a matter of on both sides the players and the owners being completely selfish. It's kind of hard for the owners to relate but what you said on players playing for the love of the game is completely true. You probably know that a large amount of the NHL stars are playing overseas in countries like Russia, Sweden, Switzerand, Finland, Czech Republic and a bunch of other big hockey nations. So for most of the players they have took matters into their own hands and are now playing overseas. In my opinion the real bummers in this are the owners. 

I think its the owners fault for numerous reasons. For one they aren't even doing any physically strenuous activity in their job and they are still demanding more money which is completely absurd. Also, there comes a point where people are just downright greedy. That's what I think is what the owners are being during the dispute. I mean face it, they are losing all of their stars from Ovechkin, to Lundqvist. On top of that it's taken them this long and if not it's gonna be longer just to find a percentage to agree on. Forget money, the owners just don't realize that potentially their teams could be hurt. For example, a team like the Rangers with newly aquired Rick Nash and other superstars will now have to wait to put their loaded team on the ice. Bottom line is the owners have to be fully committed to get a deal done or else this league could be extremely damaged by this lockout. 

I think that this is dumb. I mean the players and owners are being totally selfish. The NHL is fighting over the 3 billion dollars they have, and the players decide to want more money, event though they already make about 2.5 million dollars. This is causing the lockout, players and owners wanting more money and saying they wont play unless they get it. This was a big dissapointment to me and millions of fans out there who love the game. I thought NHL players played hockey for the love of the game but this has totally changed my oppinion. I hope the players and owners can get it together and try to finish the season.

Also, this could be a big problem for the rookies, like my friend that just got drafted to the bruins. Some of the rookies for this season may not get a chance to play because new players will move in for them next year. Also this lockout is mabey taking away some players prime time, for example Zack Parisi(just drafted to the minasota wild)is in the prime of his game and could miss a big first year with this new team. I hope the NHL can get this sorted because I want to see hockey! Im tired of the lockout and I bet you are too
