No Snow for Utah
I, for one, have enjoyed the somewhat warmer winter. Utah has had a minimum amount of snow and I’m not complaining. Although many of those snowboarders and skiers out there are probably sorely disappointed.
The question now is whether or not we will really have a winter at all. Many shook off the lack of snow in November and December thinking that it would be coming later. However, here we are at the end of February with nothing to show for our state saying: “the greatest snow on earth.” We have been expecting snow storms more than once when they "blew over," leaving us with nothing to show for ourselves. Any snow that we do end up getting is likely to melt within 24 hours of hitting the ground. This is something Utah residents have never seen before.
Many have attributed this issue to global warming. While others have pointed out that we received so much snow last year, Mother Nature just needs a break. Either way, skiing and snowboarding resorts are paying the price for this climate problem.
