Obama and Europe's Fiscal Woes

Nov 29, 2011

Recently, US President Barack Obama has announced that he wishes to "do our part" in helping solve Europe's financial issues. While this is a nice thought and a charitable one at that, it is not the fault of the US taxpayers that Europe has a large amount of debt. It is not our direct responsibility to pay for their debt. It is a good, Christian thing to do such a act, however the US has poor fiscal circumstances of its own as is and honestly they don't need to be furthered with European debt that we're not accountable for. In my opinion, Obama has a tendency to spend money that he doesn't have.
White House Spokesman Jay Carney has said that the US will not provide additional financial aid. Let us hope that this is true. Sorry, Europe.
