Ocean Collage

Throughout this unit I have been focusing on taking pictures of the changes outside that occur in the beginning of spring. I used Photoshop to help me select the portions of the photographs I had taken that I wanted to use in my collage.  I rotated my photographs and placed them in positions that corresponded with the other photographs I was using. I wanted to incorporate activity in my collage because I am very active and I wanted my collage to reflect me as a person and as a photographer. I tried to challenge myself by using new Photoshop tools and taking photographs of things that I would not usually photograph. I wanted to make my collage enjoyable to look at but not too compressed. I wanted to use my space wisely but not have too many things going on at the same time. I chose photographs that I felt represented me as a person and things that I love. I wanted to try and do things with my photography that I had never tried to do before. In my collage I tried to use the beginning of spring as my inspiration and I wanted to find a way to incorporate flowers but not have them represent just flowers. I tried to create a meaningful abstract image. I think that I succeeded. I am proud of my piece and I hope that you enjoy looking at it!

Frankie,

Great Collage! It's really fascinating! You brought all these different parts of your photos into one whole. It's just like mine except my photograph is suppose to connect and be a whole. For my photograph, I made different aspects into a picture that looked like it was taken as that. Your picture really stood out because you brought different pictures into one. I really like your dog, it's really cute! Great Job!!

Hello Frankie,

I have enjoyed looking at your collage and reading your reflection. Your reflection helped me see how your work came to be as good as it is.  You said" I chose photographs that I felt represented me as a person and things that I love." I think that chossing photo's that represent a person and who they are make a work intersting. They create a personal conenction to the work and give it significance. By posting photo's of your family and other things you love you made the collage fun to look at. It made me wonder if the ocean had some kind of meaning to you since it was selected as the background. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Frankie-

I think it was very interesting how you strived to represent yourself in your collage! An artist's work should showcase their personality and hobbies. Looking at your collage I can tell that family is important to you. Also, you participate in many activites and sports. I also like the spacing in your collage because it makes it seem random, yet all your images connect into a cohesive collage

Frankie, I really enjoyed

Frankie, I really enjoyed your collage because it is so fun and active. You really accomplished your goal of making this piece representative of your personality. .It reminds me of my own work in which it incorporates youth and action and I hope you'll check it out.

Dear Frankie,

I love your photo and they way you used photoshop to merge different pictures in one huge one. I almost thought that it was just one huge picture that you drew not photoshoped. It's very eye catching with all the different colors on the page.

The one sentence that stood out to me the most was "I chose photographs that I felt represented me as a person ans things that I love.". I think this totally represents you as a person. This whole thing is very personal and I can see that you took effort and time to actually chose things that represented you well.

I really love that you spaced out all your photographs instead of mushing them together. It makes my eyes dance around the page. The different photographs are different yet somehow similiar to each other. Thanks for your post~!

Nice post man
