Old Age
Turning 18 has opened my eyes to a lot of things, one of them being aging. It seems ridiculous to be worrying about old age at the age of 18, but society today has made our generation think that 30 is old! By the time your 15 you've basically lived half of your youth. But on the other end of that, science has been developing so quickly that there thinking it is actually possible to live to the age of 150. So why is 30 considered old? Maybe it's because of all the actresses, and models that we see everyday on billboards, magazines, movies, and just everywhere. There completely flawless, beautiful, and youthful! When you look at Halle Berry, who is in her 40's, she looks to be about 25, is this natural or due to successfully placed botox? Our society is so fixed on beauty, and sex, they put so much pressure on age. It would be nice to wake up one morning and not care about what you look like, or how many wrinkles you have, or how saggy whatever body part is.
There are procedures that can prevent these things from happening, but there comes a point where enough is enough and you can't get plastic surgery because your starting to look like your Barbie doll from 1995. People really aren't accepting of looks at all. When your young you have acne, when your old you have wrinkles. You can fix it by getting plastic surgery but go over board and you can't move your face. Sad thing is, these problems are so minuscule to the real problems of this world. When will people stop caring about how they look and actually take a look at what's happening in todays world?

Dear Hannahlam7, I just read your post. I completely agree with you. a lot of people are too much worried about things that they shouldn't be so worried of. The part that stand out to me the most is when you said " When will people stop caring about how they look and actually take a look at what's happening in todays world? " because I feel there is so much more going on in this world than what meets the eye. Keep up the good work and stable mentality.
Dear Hannah: I enjoyed your
Dear Hannah:
I enjoyed your post "Old Age". I liked it because I also feel the same on getting old.
I'm turning 18 this year, and so far... I have been seeing a lot of things and experiencing things. I feel that young girls are trying to grow up to fast, and older ladies are trying to look young.
My aunt is 40 something, and she dresses like she's 13 -_-
Once sentence that stood out for me was "It would be nice to wake up one morning and not care about what you look like, or how many wrinkles you have, or how saggy whatever body part is". Totally agreed.
I wish I could wake up and not worry how I look or how my hair looks. But I guess it's because I do it to impress my boyfriend. He says I look pretty with no makeup, and with my hair in a ponytail with sweatpants. No, to me looking pretty is my hair flat ironed, make up and a cute outfit.
Another sentence that stood out to me was "When your young you have acne, when your old you have wrinkles". We can never really perfect our bodies to how we want them. If we don't have acne, we're fat, if we're not fat, it's something else. I don't think we can ever be "perfect".
