Orwell in Today's Society

The most glaring of all parallels between Orwell's 1984 and society today would be the constant surveliance. Wherever you go in today's world y are be watched or monitored. Whether it be by a surveliance camera in a store or by the NSA reading one's E-mails or listening in on ohone calls. One can almost never escape the prying eyes of others. Some of this surveliance is self induced, due to the inventions of social media where people willingly share every aspect of their day online, from what they ate for breakfast, to who they are hanging out with. Everything many of us has ever done can all be found online. This is exactly like the Telescreens in 1984 and the work of the thought police.
