People actually care for others even if they did horrible in life: After by Amy Efaw

So my predictions where some what right. Devon might come out of jail if the judge doesn't let her be seen as a guilty person. At this part of the story Devon is really happy but as her attorney starts mentioning all the charges Devon is charged with I got shocked myself. What I'm now understanding is that this isn't even Jail what shes going to go through is going to determine if she goes to jail.

I'm in between in liking and dislike After, by Amy Efaw because I don't like the fact that this teenager is going through all of this. An example of what I mean is on page 74. "Well good. Then you must also know that the prosecution filed a motion requesting a hearing to determine whether you should be tried as a juvenile or as an adult." I think this outrageous because really she now being seen as an adult? I blame her mother for not being there to support her child. This just makes me appreciate my mom more than i do.

We learn something interesting about one on characters, Dominique Barcelona on page 80 where it says: " Go ahead Devon make me your enemy.” She’s speaking quietly with those measured tones of hers, but her words have heat to them. “Under the law, all you’re entitled to is an adequate defense. That means the next time I technically have to see your sorry face is the next time we’re planted in front of the judge. If that’s what you want, then that will just have to be okay with me. But that’s no way to win. And guess what, Devon? I like to win." This is not typical of how this character acts in this book, so far. She often seems to be the person she is meant to be her attorney. But as she tries to make Devon understand what shes going have to go through she changes her act because Devon is not opening to her. I understand the way she acts because she cares for Devon. I guess the reason for Devon to act this way is because she never experience someone who has care for her so much.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of the book because I would like to know what is going to happen to Devon. If Dominique is going to save Devon through this event she going through. I really like how Dominique is she’s actually caring which shows the Devon will hopefully succeed in leaving that place.
