Plastic surgery as an empowerment

Mar 31, 2015

as the number of plastic surgery procedures performed each year grows, so does the amount of controversy surrounding cosmetic enhancement. Many people believe that the driving force beneath getting plastic surgery is insecurity, but that is almost completely false. Many plastic surgeons (and surveys/tests) have found that the overwhelming majority of people receiving procedures actually exhibit normal or above average levels of self esteem, confidence, and self worth. Cosmetic surgery is meant to enhance some feature of a person, to bring it out - not to obscure it completely.
