I created the Scratch animation The Prince Frog and the Princess as my response to a project to create an interactive ethical story. An ethical story is a story about an event where the main character or main characters have to make a choice. A good choice will lead them to happiness while a bad choice will lead them to pain or more trouble later on. These ethical stories were made to make people learn what was right and what was wrong. There are often alternate endings to the story telling kids the outcomes and happiness that could come from a good decision and the trouble that will come from a bad decision even if the bad decision will lead to momentary and temporary comfort.

My story is about a young princess called Eliza who who is very light- hearted and wants to go play with her beautiful golden ball by the well a little out by the way. She think that it will help her to relax. She goes to her father in in order to ask for permission to go by the well. He tells her that going by the well would be dangerous because it was an enchanted well. He eventually lets her go after she asks some more. Once Eliza get to the well she drops her ball into it and is very sad and suddenly a frog comes over and offers to get the ball for her in exchange for a kiss. She agree, but in her mind she is not sure weather or not to give the ball. When he gets the ball for her asks if she will keep her promise if she does he turns into the prince and they are happily married. If she says no and breaks her promise than he will angrily go away. Princess Eliza is then found by a witch.

My story was inspired by the classic story of the The Princess and the Frog, the original story is slightly different. She says no and then when he comes to her house she sulkily lets him in and treats him badly. And in a mad attempt to get the frog out of her life she throws him up against the wall and then he turns into the frog. They still get married even though she had very rude and had not kept her promise.

I think I was unsuccessful in creating my story because my story would have been about as long if I had not made one big silly mistake. I did not let the frog appear. And through that the entire story fell apart. The ethical choice could not be made and the background could not change displaying either the witch going to eat the princess or the wedding scene between the handsome prince and Princess Eliza. We also could not get a joint coronation.

I liked how the two different endings were very interesting and different. You clearly demonstrated an ethical dilemma. I think your ethical dilemma was very different because the princess has a choice whether or not she'll kiss the frog. If she did kiss the frog, she's marry him; if she didn't, she's get eaten by a which.

I liked how your animation had ideas from the real story.Your story also involved ethical dilemma. You gave the viewer the chance to pick a decision: right or wrong. In the story, it was right for the princess to kiss the frog in return. It would be wrong if it was the opposite. There were two solutions: the Frog prince and princess living forever, or the Frog prince getting stuck in the frog forever.

I liked how you took an original story, gave it a twist and put your own ending(s) in it. It was a clear demonstration of an ethical dilemma story because you whether you say yes or no there is an different outcome and a reason for it. I also like how there are there are totally different outcome, if you say yes the princess marries the frog and if you say no a witch eats the princess. In a ethical dilemma you have two choices that the character has to make and that is what the story demonstrates.

In your story of The Princess and the Frog you clearly demonstrated the idea of an ethical dilemma. Your Scratch Animation was nicely done and was entertaining too! In the story I like how you had two clear choices pertaining to what the princess should do suffering to her beautiful golden ball. She could marry the Prince or not have her ball at all which would make her especially sad. I like the choices in the story and the different outcomes and consequences of the different choices.

I enjoyed the twist you put that if she does not agree to the frog's conditons, she is chased by a witch; it was a creative turn to the story. Your ethical dilemma seemed quite apporpriate. That is the same dilemma in the fairytale, though, so it is not as origiinal.
