As we near the end of our senior year of high school, everyone is impatiently waiting the end of school. It seems as if everyone is ready for new beginnings (i.e. summer, jobs, college). Most people aren't talking about Prom, which will be the last dance for all of us as this group. Prom has always been made out to be a magical event that girls(mainly) have been extremely excited for. Yet, the attitude around has seemed a little less than magical. Many people are upset with the 'keep on truckin' theme or perhaps the $45 tickets that must be purchased before the dance. I have been involved in discussions and seen it both ways, but I am trying to keep a positive outlook for the event. Although it may seem bad, it will probably turn out to be a great experience for a lot of people. Whether it be the art of asking/responding, the dance itself, taking pictures with your date, or whatever your group is involved in after; there are plenty of good things to look forward to.
