Racism and pride.
Recently there hasn't been a lot going on with my topic so i will try to do more research and try to find out more stuff. plus i have noticed something that people do when they think about another races. What i noticed is that people compare religon with race. Hygiene with race i don't know how that works but yeah people do it. like lets say Muslims... i have often heard from people that "oh that Muslim people like to take a shower once in a year". my response to that is ridiculous people should know better i mean how can you say such thing!.
And I've also seen people compare sexual activities to races: like "umm i think christian people do the most sexual activities" or "they have problems finding their one life partner". I know it sounds dumb but its true people in our society say stuff that wouldn't matter to us because we would ignore it, but will make their own self feel stupid.
Foucus sentence: It is just sad to see people making fools of their selves by saying such things.
"When I born, I black
When I grow up, I black
When I go in Sun, I black
When I scared, I black
When I sick, I black
And when I die, I still black
And you white fellow
When you born, you pink
When you grow up, you white
When you go in sun, you red
When you cold, you blue
When you scared, you yellow
When you sick, you green
And when you die, you gray
And you calling me colored??"
post in google reader:
I'm learning more about racism right now,and in particular I'm wondering about is Why are some people so proud of their ethnicity that they make others with different ethnicitioes feel bad. As I was reading in my google reader, this poem came up and caught my attention because of its name it says " WHO IS COLOURED? - A touching poem on racism" soo then you know racism is my topic to I had to check it out!
This quote that i choose basically describes a black persons veiw of a white person in different situations who call their selves white but they are literally coloured and while the black person stays black in any situation.
This poem is so true like from a black persons view It makes sence people call other people coloured without even look at their own self. so like look at your self before saying anything to anyone because you could be what you say LITERALLY!.
I think this is a good way to back your self up when you feel offencive. but in a way it is funny to see that these thing still exist.
Im not saying that being proud is bad. But being proud that you ethnicity is the best is bad. to me everyone is equal
