Rallying Allies

I just read an article called "Romney Goes to Capitol Hill, Looking for Allies" which was about Mitt Romney's efforts to rally Republicans around his candidacy. While you are in the business of politics, you need to have allies, or people that will help support you. Having allies gets you votes, and votes are what is needed to win elections. However, this is crunch time when all Republican candidates who hope to run against Obama pull out all the stops and rally their "troops." I think this is important because even though Romney is the clear favorite to oppose Obama he is trying to get an additional push or surge with as many people as he can get.

One quote from the article that I found to be important was "Nonetheless, Mr. DeMint emerged from a private conversation with Mr. Romney to say that “I’m not only comfortable with Romney, I’m excited about the possibility of him possibly being our nominee,” I thought this was important because Romney has what politicians need an look for. Romney has powerful people who believe in his ideas and appreciate/respect the approach he is taking to become president.
