I really enjoyed the article i have just read. I use the word enjoyed loosely, but it was informative. Metanoia, the author of this article, entitled it, "Suicide: Read This First". The website to find this article is http://www.metanoia.org/suicide/. He/She lends a helping hand to people that have no one. At first he/she starts off by saying, read this article if you are feeling suicidal, just stop and read. I thoguth that he/she was being generous and loving in a way. They just wanted to get their point across and to think before losing it all.

Once sentence that Metanoia said that really stood out to me was "that’s not enough to be suicidal about." I thought, wow. Thats a line i have used before...He/She was contradicting me saying that different people have different ideas about what they can cope with pain. Everyone has their own capacity for pain, and some break easier.

Anoter sentence i read that also stood out to me was “Suicide is not chosen; it happens when pain exceeds resources for coping with pain.” I am not 100% sure he/she said this, so I wont bestow credit upon them. But I saw how true this was. Someone does not say, "oh I'm just going to go kill myself today" things lead up to it. But when they cant take the pain of everything, something snaps and they attempt or commit to suicide.

I completely agree with Metanoia's article. Along with the caring aspect, he/she says go out and get help for the person that is feeling this way. One thing that I didn't like about the article was it seemed a bit redundant. Like, "the person is ok, get help, they are expressing how they really feel, get help" so that just was a think that was a bit irritating.

I wish I had had this article 2 years ago. A friend of mine wanted to commit suicide and I just said all the things that I shouldn't have said. I helped them but in a wrong way. I really would like to see this person in action trying to calm someone down. If you are EVER feeling suicidal...read this article, it will make you feel better.
