Relationship between Joe and Janie

I’ve
been reading, “Their Eyes Were Watching God” by Zora Neale Hurston and
it is getting more interesting. New things are happening since Janie
left Logan for Joe. Joe and Janie have an okay relationship. Joe is more
worried about becoming the mayor but he does put some attention to
Janie. Janie feels a little out of place but she doesn’t complain much.
Janie and Joe
are getting along but they don’t show true love for each other.
On
page 61, Janie shows a feeling of being lost. She was asked to make a
speech but she has never made any speech in her life.  I think she was
feeling that she did not belong there and it was too much for her to
take. She never imagined of becoming someone important, so this was so
new to her. This was not what she expected when she decided to run away
with Joe. I think that Janie feels this is something that she was not
ready for and its not really something she wants.
