In their eyes were watching god Zora Neale Hurston wants the readers to think about two different characters. In this case It is Janie and Joe. They relationship is like food, In the beginning it amazing and looks wonderful to eat but when you are full of it you just want to throw up and not eat anymore. Janie is more a dreamer and wants a better future, she is nice and keeps things inside of what bothers her. Joe is the mean type, controlling and judge able. The author wants us to think about the mistakes people make with out thinking it out through just as Janie did.Life is not always what you think it is. Zora Neale Hurston wants us to think about how to make decisions in life, and not just to run it through and pick the choice of what’s being put in front of you.
Something like what i mean is on page 105 where Janie is trying to figure out how to talk to Joe but he is just being a jerk.”he gave a deep growling sound like a hog dying down in the swamp and trying to drive off disturbance. ah come in heah tuh get shet uh you but look lak taint doin me good.gwan out. ah needs to rest” This made Joe look like he dont care much of what she has to say, he just turned into the food that Janie don't want to eat anymore because she is sick d tired of it. I understand that Joe is dying from the illness but he should understand that it’s not fair to Janie and the treatment she is getting from him. From the view I see it from , Janie is still acting awful nice to him.
One of the character Janie reminds me of this other Character from the book fences, where the a teenage boy is being controlled by his father because he is more controlling and a leader in the house. The teenage boy and Janie relate because they are like little puppets being forced to do stuff around either by the father or the husband.
