Response to "All Eyes Are On You."
Dear Ashton H.:
I did not completely agree with your letter, "All Eyes Are On You," because it seems like you are blaming all of our unemployment on immigrants along with our crime rate. Americans don't want the jobs that the illegal immigrants are taking for unfair wages. Also American companies are the ones sending their jobs overseas. Wal-Mart this great American company doesn't employ Americans for work they have factories in China for manufacturing their products. If companies such as Wal-Mart were to bring jobs to America our unemployment rate would go down not if illegal immigrants disappeared.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: "In a recent study, illegal aliens are most like to commit crimes." I think this is discriminating because it paints all illegal aliens in a bad light when in reality they are not all bad. The majority of them are just coming here for freedom and are willing to take jobs American's won't to stay here. American's are not perfect and some can commit crimes in teh blink of an eye but this makes it sound like American's are perfect and all the illegal aliens are horrible. You have a good point of view but it would be good if you looked at both sides of things.
I don't completely agree with you that no matter where you go you have to be afraid. One reason I say this is because there is crime everywhere no matter what nation you go to there will be crime and we can't live our life scared. Another reason I disagree with you is because you don't show both sides of the argument it is important to show the other side of things because everyone deserves the right to be defended. Including those that are living here illegally to help their families no matter what the majority of illegal aliens are doing.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because I enjoy reading other sides of issues then the ones I have so I look forward to reading more about your thoughts on issues and seeing how your thoughts may or may not have changed.
