Response to the short story "I Stand Here Ironing"
I just read a shout story, "I Stand here Ironing," by Tillie Olsen, and I feel sad about it because as a little girl you shouldn't have to do these thing.
One line from "I Stand here Ironing" that stands out for me is " She was a beautiful baby. The first and only one of our five that was beautiful at birth" I think this is both good and bad it make me feel that the family will have a beater life, and is going to be a new star.
Another line that I like was "She was two. Old enough for nursery nursery school," this stood out for me, because as a two year old girl she shouldn't stay in a nursery school.
