Response to Wikipedia Article "Against Drugs!"

I just read a Wikipedia article "Arguments for and against drug prohibiton," Wikepedia: The Free Encyclopedia 18 November 2008. I liked this article because it talks about the drug prohibtion and how they want to get rid of the drugs and stop using them. Drugs are damaging to people and our environment as well, and they can lead to a disasterous furture. People should not do drugs at all.

One sentence from this article that stands out for me is: "...failure to reduce violent crimes". I think this is really important because a lot of people are dying due to violent crimes around the world. People's lives are being taken away from these violent crimes because people hate each other for no reason and just want to kill people because of the hatred against them. Violent crimes should  be reduced, and they shouldn't even happen in the first place. People are suffering and losing family members that they really love and care about. Why cant these violent crimes be reduced? There has to be a way. So many people are getting hurt out there for no reason. We need to make sure that no one gets hurt.

Im pretty sure this is accurate because I got it from the U.S. Medicine INformation Central, http://www.usmedicine.com/article.cfm?articleID=1055&issueID=73 that says "According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), tobacco related-deaths account for about 20 per cent of all deaths in the U.S. CDC estimates that about 17,419 people died of alcohol-related motor vehicle accidents in 2002 in the U.S. Obesity has been linked with many health problems, including diabetes, asthma and high blood pressure, among other things." This is true because also in the wikipedia article it talks about how 20 % of the people are dying due to tobacco and alcohol. A lot of people are dying due to all these drugs and it should be stopped and people should stop using it if they know it is killing them. Due to all these drugs people are having health problems like high blood pressure and other things as well.

Another sentence I liked was, "Heroin had been cut". This stood out for me because heroin should be cut down so people don't do the drugs and get cancer or anything. These drugs damage your body and you can get cancer from it. It is better for people since heroin is cut down, not many people would start using these heroin drugs. Since heroin is cut down fewer people can go buy it and kill there body. More lives can be saved. Why do we even do drugs in the first place? Drug kill your body!  People should stop now!

I doubled-checked this fact from City of Wichita-Special Investigations, http://www.wichita.gov/CityOffices/Police/Investigations/Special+Investi... that says "There are many substances that are used to cut heroin. Quinine, starch, powdered milk, powdered vitamins, caffeine, phenobarbital, lactose, glucose, mannitol, sucrose, and procaine are often used to dilute powdered heroin that is white in color. Coffee, chocolate milk powder, cocoa mix, and brown sugar are often used to dilute powdered heroin that is tan or brown in color, which makes me feel pretty sure that it is true because they have been cutting down heroin  and less people are using it now which is a really good thing.

There's something in this article that I think might not be accurate that I think my not be accurate. It says "...failure to reduce violent crimes". I think there is an error because I think there is a way to stop these violent crimes and there has to be a way to stop it. There can not be no way to stop these violent crimes because so many people are dying out there. Another source from Violent and Alcohol Related Crime Violent crime can come in many different forms including physical number of violent and alcohol related crimes in the area can be reduced even further. There is an error because right here it says that violent crimes can be reduced which is really good and less people would be dying out there in the world.

What I learned from this article is that drugs are dangerous to people and drugs shouldnt even be created at all in the first place. Who even created it? I will like to see how this article changes in the future because I went to see what happens because drugs might be changed and fewer people might do drugs and realize how much it damages there body. People should quit doing drugs while they can and stop harming themselves and the people around them as well. Drugs are really unhealthy.
