An Review of this year
This year was a really rocky ride all in itself an high school is a completely different animal from middle school. From projects to a lot of homework assignments I guess this is what comes in the package of the number one school in the state of New York. I felt like the teachers really expected a lot from us since this wasn't like most of us were attending a new school, so they pretty much expected us to know the routine. In a way they were right, but in an even bigger way they were wrong. I think we all expected piles of homework, but the level of thinking we were supposed to reach for many assignments, I think, is something we weren't ready for. Overall for the work aspect of school I think all of us expected what was coming back just needed some time to adjust.
The school yaer was interesting in the fact that we got to meet lots of new teachers and go back to some old ones. I think all the teachers were ver helpful and willing to give all of us helpful feedback in our reports and assignments in order to help us to better. Some of the subjects interested me a lot, like forensics, which was a unique subject that no other New York City public school teaches to their students and that expanded my knowledge very much. There are some topics however that I still don't understand why we must learn such as HIV and AIDS in advisory. We learn about this every year and are aware of the consequences, why do we have to learn the same thing over and over when we could be introduced to new topics?
All in all 9th grande requires lots of effort on the student's part, but it was a blast as well.
