Revised Journal Entry
Choosing a book from the list of classics was a difficult task for me. As I’m sure many students my age can relate to, sitting down and reading a book for a long period of time can seem like an impossible thing. Especially when the book is a classic. So as you can assume I was not looking forward to reading this book. I chose the book Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. At first it seemed bearable, but not something I’d actually enjoy. My first impression was how different the language Brontë uses is. I am now about a hundred pages into it and surprisingly enough I am liking it a lot. She creates many images in the readers head and although I can’t actually relate to Jane who is sent to a school for orphans it is written in a way that you are able to easily feel sympathy towards the children sent there. I am glad that I chose this book and may even venture on to more classics after this.
