My name is Samantha. My favorite color is blue. I have never lived anywhere but New York and Florida. I was born on May 26, 2000 on a Friday. I have an older sister, Amanda, 23, an older brother, Shane, 16, and a little sister Alexie Belle, 3. I live with my mom, dad, and younger sister. My older siblings are both from different moms and live out of state so I don't really see them all that often, but they are still in my heart.
Family is the most important thing in the world to me and it always has been considering mine is so big. I have family scattered all over the world. Some are in different parts of the U.S, some are in Puerto Rico and some are in England. Some of them I have never met, some of them I met when I was super young, and others I see every day. But some of them aren't even my blood. Some of them are just friends that I have known all my life and some of them I have just met 6 months ago in my first year in high school.
A turning point for me in my short 14 years of life was definitely when I was in the fifth grade. That was the year that I was bullied by two of the people I used to call my best friends. They would push me into people, push me on the floor, follow me places, and did everything in their power to try and make my life a living hell. This went on for about six or seven months, then my mom found out.
She put a stop to it, as any mother would, but in that very moment, as she was yelling at those girls for doing the things they did, I realized that I needed to start being a stronger person. That was definitely a turning point for me because it was the day I found myself. From then on, I have always reported any signs of bullying, and I have never let anyone suffer the way I did.
In school, believe it or not, I actually, really enjoy algebra class. I enjoy this class particularly because it is one of the many classes that really tests my skills, and I just love acquiring new skills and learning new things. After school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, I have college prep. I also recently joined the debate team which will be held after school on Thursdays, and I also auditioned for the talent show.
Outside of school I usually just go home. However when I go home I do a lot of singing. I have been singing since I have been able to talk and I don't plan on stopping. I remember being about eight years old and thinking to myself, “Wow I'm really good at this!” And for the past six years, that thought has never left my mind.
My singing ability has only excelled from there. It's a passion I want to pursue for the rest of my life. When I'm singing I feel invincible and in control. It helps me relieve stress and get out anger. Singing is really is a great way for me to express myself. It's the one thing I have always truly loved and I never plan to stop.
