Seeing the City through the Lens of Nature

I took this photo through a hole in a leaf on the windowsill of a classroom in my school.  I love the concept of blending the apparent polar opposite of city and nature, and I think that this picture represents one way to bring those two together. If you look at the city through nature, you see it's both uglier and more beautiful than anyone really considers on a day to day basis. There's the ugliness of the destruction it implies, the crowds, the grime, etc, but it's also a representation of how nature has been the springboard for human accomplishment, exemplified in the construction of cities like New York.
