The Senate is Keeping Orwell's Prediction Alive

Most people can confidently say that the predictions in George Orwell's "1984" have not come to fruition. The Senate is about to change that. Bill s.1867 passed overwhelmingly in the Senate, and has even got Barack Obama threatening to veto. The Bill allows the military to arrest and detain any citizen in the entire world, yes, even any American citizen. The military can then use torture, and detain you for any amount of time, whether you are charged with something or not. The Bill calls America a "battlefield". The thing thats scary about this Bill, is that even when its supporters explain it, it sounds really bad. South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, who is a major proponent of the bill, said "1031, the statement of authority to detain, does apply to American citizens and it designates the world as the battlefield, including the homeland.” 1031 by the way, is the section of the Bill that says Americans are not exempt from the new rules. Maybe 1984 hasn't come yet. The government is already in the process of tightening up the internet, and now this. Paul Craig Roberts, a former official in the Reagan Administration, said the United States "is on it's way to becoming a police state" and that the Bill "is in favor of arresting U.S. citizens and putting them in concentration camps".
